RIM has announced the launch of its latest computer-cum-phone capable device, called Bold. Also termed as BlackBerry 9000, it boasts to be the first smartphone to work on tri-band HSDPA high-speed networks across the globe.
In order to attract large set of audiences, RIM has not only concentrated on its features and high-end specifications, but also on its design and elegant look.
Resting on the lustrous black exterior, satin chrome finished frame and stylish leather-like backplate, the mobile phone makes it a point to not let down the business professionals to maintain its sophisticated lifestyle.

Consumers can even make use of pre-installed DataViz Documents to Go suite to download Word, Excel or PowerPoint files and edit them straight away on the half-VGA (480×320 resolution) color LCD of the handset. On operating the functionalities, they will appreciate the vibrant and razor sharp images that deliver extraordinary definition and clarity.

The display, which is fused to the undersurface of the lens, also offers exceptional quality and contrast of video playback. It claims to provide desktop-style depiction while browsing through the internet. Talking about trackballs to navigate menus, it does the work of a mouse. The capability of Page View or Column View or Zoom-In on specific parts of a web page, ensures BlackBerry 9000 to double as the full desktop and the mobile version.
In addition to desktop-style HTML content viewing and mobile version layout, the smartphone has RTSP (real-time streaming protocol) to allow users to watch streaming videos. All the above mentioned operations are possible due to the high-speed network that includes a new “Push Button Setup” for faster connection.
Besides, the Bold smartphone also features:

  • 2 megapixel camera with video recording capability, built-in flash and 5x digital zoom

  • Equalizer with 11 preset filters

Running on rechargeable 1500 mAhr battery, the BlackBerry 9000 smartphone can work continuously for 5 hours of talk-time and 13 days on standby time.
